Let's Talk About Restraint Conference - 17 March 2016

Disability Sheffield have teamed up with Active Independence, Sheffield City Council and individual employers and their personal assistants to coproduce new Safer Restraints Training and downloadable resources to help people talk about safer restraints. We are hosting our Let’s Talk about Restraint conference on 17th March 2016 from 10am to 3.30pm at Rotherham United Football Stadium to showcase what we have achieved over the last year and inviting all interested parties to come along and share learning from the project. Disability Sheffield has produced a practical leaflet called Let’s Talk About Restraint and this, along with the project case study is available from the ‘Employing your own Care Support’ section of Skills for Care’s Learn from Others resource . To book a place at the conference please use our Eventbrite page . Please note that although this event is free with a free buffet lunch, without 48hrs notice of cancellation there will be a charge of £10 for people who book a place and fail to attend.

Very good presentation, brave of the speakers to tell their stories and had a very high impact - feedback from Mate/Hate Crime presentation and video session at Safeguarding Working Together Conference

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.
