Tools for Life is a research project which aims to develop tools to empower people to make informed decisions about sharing their patient data for research. The project is funded by the Wellcome Trust and is being managed by the Information School, University of Sheffield.
Members of the public, patients, and health professionals are being invited to take part in a deliberation day which aims to test tools developed to enable people to think about the benefits and risks of sharing their patient data for purposes beyond their direct care. There will also be discussion about what encourages or discourages people from sharing their patient data/medical records, and factors which influence peoples’ decisions.
Due to unforeseen reasons we have had to put the move back the date of the Let’s Talk about Health Data Sharing event to the week beginning 24th May.
The live online workshop will take place on Thursday 27th May (10am – 1pm):
An event platform will be open for you to view animations and infographics at a time of your own choosing from Monday 24th – Wednesday 26th May
Tools for Life is looking for people aged 18 years and over, from a range of different backgrounds to take part. You do not need to have any knowledge of the topic, only a willingness to think about the issues.
To say thank you for your time, all participants will receive a £40 Amazon voucher at the end of the workshop.
If you would like to take part in the online event or have any questions, please email toolsforlife@sheffield.ac.uk
