A fun and friendly group which organises leisure events for disabled people has restarted and there are hopes for expansion once Covid-19 regulations loosen up.
The ‘Leisure Time’ sessions take place at Concord Sports Centre in Shiregreen on Friday mornings from 10.30-12.30 and costs £3.00 (carers free ).
Grace, who is a participant representative, having taken part in similar sessions since 1999, said: “At the moment due to Covid restrictions the sports hall only provides a selection of sports including football, badminton, table tennis, and cricket. The bouncy castle and sensory rooms will be available when more restrictions are eased.
“It is a relaxed space where participants can do as little or as much as they want and are also welcome to bring new ideas e.g. games to share. Our activities are ideal to take time out, chat and make friends. The building is fully accessible, also hot and cold drinks and confectionery can be bought.
“We would love more people to attend and make new friends. I am there every Friday and newcomers are always welcome.” View Poster
