In these bleak, cold times we all need a bit of cheering up. And disabled comedians are being given their chance to shine and show the funny side of their lives thanks to an accessible comedy club.
LaughAble is a monthly event showcasing performers with disabilities and mental health conditions. It aims to make performing and viewing accessible to everyone with some shows taking place online and captioned.
The next of these takes place on Zoom on Monday November 29th starting at 7.30. MC will be founder Mark Nicholas and headlining will be Luke Poulton, who won the Essex Comedian Of The Year title in 2019 and is well-known for his videos on social media site TikTok.
Among the seven other performers at the two-hour show is locally-based Jamie Preece, a volunteer with Sheffield Cycling 4 All, part of Disability Sheffield
You can get free tickets for the night here.
And if you think you have what it takes to make people laugh, the group is also looking for future performers. If you are interested in doing a five or ten minute spot you can email your video/biography and agreement to a no punching down ethos to laughablecomedynight@gmail.com
