KeyRing Connects

Connect Sheffield is a new day opportunity from KeyRing . Their weekly hubs and activities are based at The Exchange Brewery, 2 Bridge Street, Sheffield S3 8NS. Originally KeyRing worked with people who have learning disabilities but they now work with anyone who needs support to live independently.

Kathryn Littlewood. KeyRing Area Manager explains

“In Sheffield KeyRing will work with you. People call what we do independent living support. That means you’ll get help to build skills and make friends and connections. Your life will get bigger. In fact if we do it well, you’ll soon find that you need us less and less.

You might get support from us because you want to take better care of your home, or your health. You might want to get to know more people and have some friends to do stuff with. Or you might want to fill your days with something meaningful or important to you like work or volunteering.

Your support is flexible. This means that when you meet with your KeyRing support worker it will be at a time and place that fits in with your life. The best bit about KeyRing is that some of your support time can be spent getting to know other people and doing things you want to do.”

Very good presentation, brave of the speakers to tell their stories and had a very high impact - feedback from Mate/Hate Crime presentation and video session at Safeguarding Working Together Conference

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)
