Keeping Families In Mind

Sheffield Mind is aiming to help families living in South Yorkshire who have members in the military services ( based anywhere ) to cope with any potential traumas.

Keeping Families In Mind is an innovative new service funded by the Ministry of Defence providing therapeutic support to the families of serving military personnel. This could be support for significant, stressful events arising from the deployment of a loved one, the uncertainty when they are away or the challenges that can arise when they return following a period of deployment. They also appreciate that family life carries on regardless and that this can bring its own stresses and challenges. They offer support here too, providing an opportunity to talk about the extraordinary pressures of life in and around the military.

The service offers the opportunity for family members to access free confidential counselling from a qualified (BACP registered) therapist and access supportive groups to reduce isolation and provide a place where they can feel able to share their experiences.

The service can visit people at home or in nearby community venues as well as see people in their offices in Sharrow, Sheffield.

You can read the Keeping Families In Mind leaflet here .

Sheffield Mind is based at The Wellbeing Centre, 110 Sharrow Lane, Sheffield
S11 8AL. Their phone number is 0114 258 4489 or you can email them at info@sheffieldmind.co.uk .

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)
