Sheffield CU – with the initials standing for Children’s University – is part of a national initiative that encourages and celebrates participation in a wide range of inspiring learning opportunities outside school hours.
Their Festival Of Fun consists of more than 75 free activities for children, young people and families, all of which are suitable for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) with adult support.
A wide range of activities are covered by the festival, including dance and drama, arts and crafts and family games. Some of them have limited spaces and some are open to kids from across South Yorkshire so all those taking part are encouraged to check there are spare spaces for what they want to do. Booking open on Friday July 10th.
To ensure social distancing is maintained most activities are home-based, while others are self-guided walks and trails.
You can find out more about Sheffield CU on their Twitter and Facebook sites. It also has its own blog spot and you can sign up to their parents/carers mailing list by emailing CU@sheffield.gov.uk
