How AI Can Make Information More Accessible

AI isn’t just a buzzword any more. Artificial Intelligence is becoming part of everyday life in classrooms , at home and at work.

The article Disability, diversity and a very honest robot in Kidz to Adultz magazine explores how artificial intelligence, particularly ChatGPT, can support disabled people by making information more accessible.

It highlights examples such as simplifying complex text, breaking down instructions, and adapting communication for different needs, including BSL users.

The article also emphasises the importance of recognising diversity within AI responses, noting that while AI draws on large amounts of data, it must also account for different perspectives and experiences to be truly inclusive.

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)
