Disabled, female but have difficulty finding fashionable clothes? if so you may be able to help a student who is doing her dissertation on the the fashion industry’s attitude to disability.
The student, whose name is Catalina, is at Istituto Marangoni, the London-based school of fashion and design, is currently doing a project entitled ‘Disability In The Fashion Industry’. She is paying special attention to wheelchair users but would like to speak to people with a range of disabilities.
Catalina is planning to conduct a focus group on Zoom with some female volunteers to discuss problems in finding suitable outfits if you have a disability and consider any solutions . Her ambition is to make fashion more accessible.
She adds: “The names of the participants will not appear in any section of my final dissertation and full confidentiality is guaranteed. To ensure accuracy when interpreting the information, I kindly ask for permission to audio-record the session. The only data I will ask for will be your name- although you can use a nickname if you want – your age and where you live.”
The only other person who will gain access to the details is her tutor and dissertation supervisor, Leonardo Blonda. You can email him at l.blonda.tutor@istitutomarangoni.org or contact Catalina directly at 040019@istitutomarangoni.org
