Citizens Advice would like to speak to anyone who thinks they’ve ever been treated unfairly or badly by a landlord, property manager or letting agent and thought it might be because they are disabled.
The unfair or bad treatment could relate to things like:
- Reasonable adjustments not being made to your home
- Getting a worse service than someone else
- Being asked to leave or being evicted
- Not being rented somewhere
- Any kind of harassment or victimization because of your disability
Citizens Advice are writing some new advice content to help people check if they’re being discriminated against in housing, and give them guidance on what to do about it.
They would like to speak to people for about 45-minutes, ask them about their experience and show them a few web pages of advice to see what they think of it.
Citizens Advice will interview you remotely from your own home using screen sharing software (JoinMe), or could arrange an appointment at their London office near St Paul’s.
As a thankyou Citizens Advice are offering a £50 gift card for your time and support.
If you are interested in being involved please contact Liz Roberts on either Elizabeth.roberts@scope.org.uk or 020 7619 7150.
