Sheffield City Council is seeking your comments on the new Sheffield Plan.
It will cover the whole of Sheffield, except those parts that fall within the Peak District National Park. It will guide the city’s growth by setting out how and where new development will take place, and last until 2038, so it’s a long-term strategy.
A local plan is the statutory development plan for the city and it:
- guides new development (such as housing, economic development, community and leisure facilities, transport infrastructure)
- helps protect the environment (such as countryside, open space, wildlife sites)
- provides basis for deciding planning applications
- identifies and reserves land for development
- supports economic growth and provides certainty for developers
The call for feedback is open to everyone who would like to comment on the future growth of Sheffield – whether you are a resident, a business, a community group, a worker or someone who invests in the city.
Take the online survey to give your views on the Sheffield Plan at the Sheffield Plan: Issues and Options page. The consultation closes on 13 October 2020.
