Get Yourself Active February Newsletter

Get Yourself Active the partnership developing better opportunities for disabled people to get active in their local area in a way that is right for them, have released their February Newsletter.

This month you can read about how sport is a great way to bring people together; why sharing your story is so important; the Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes Disability Sport Summit; and more, including a great ‘Did you know…’ section about Personal Budgets.

Disability Sheffield is one of four Disabled People’s User Led Organisations (DPULOs), working together to develop better opportunities for disabled people to get active.
Together we will develop and share models of practice which empower and support disabled people to get and stay active.

Let us know how you like to stay active, and which sports you would like to give a go in the comments below.

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.
