Get Together for Good

Get Together for Good

Mental Health Awareness Week ( 12 – 16 May ) is this year all about celebrating our communities and how they support good mental health and wellbeing.

Communities connect, support, and give us a sense of belonging and purpose. helping to prevent feelings of isolation and loneliness.

The Mental health Foundation is asking ‘What’s your community?’ and offering Ten ways to get involved with your community and boost your mental health.

These range from choosing an activity you enjoy, getting outdoors, connecting with others and caring for your community to finding peer support if you’re struggling.

Not forgetting their information about supporting someone else with their mental health and how to support mental health at work.

Everyone deserves good mental health.

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.
