Good work these days is hard to find, especially if you have some form of disability.
But Sheffield-based organisation Good Work, set up by South Yorkshire Housing Association, is hoping to help ‘amazing people’ – including those living with a severe mental health condition – to find, stay and thrive in employment.
Part of this involves coaches who provide one-to-one support to find paid employment that’s just right for the individual. “We promise to be your advocate and see your potential, and can support you to find full or part-time work. We’ll also help with any debt, benefit and wellbeing support, and remain there for you in your new job role,’‘ they say.
“People with disabilities and health conditions are among every organisation’s best and most resilient employees. We work with employers to recruit and retain these brilliant candidates, and offer specialist training and advice on workplace health and wellbeing.”
They have produced a poster to advertise their work.
Good Work is based at 152 Rockingham Street, Sheffield, S1 4EB and is open from Mon–Fri 9am–5pm. Alternatively you can call 0114 2900 218 or email goodwork@syha.co.uk
