A charity which offers a range of services to people with mental health problems is looking for Experts By Experience to improve its support for marginalised groups.
Rethink Mental Illness, a national charity which has a base in Sheffield is hoping to find another two or three Experts to join the nine already working for them.
The purpose of the roles is to represent lived experience in considerations and decisions about how mental health support in the community can be best offered to meet people’s needs. The goal is personalised and holistic support that improves the experience and quality of treatment and support for service users, carers and families
It is part of the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) Health and Wellbeing Alliance, which is a partnership between sector representatives and the health and care system. It is a key element of The Health And Wellbeing Programme, enabling the sector to share its expertise at a national level with the aim of improving services for all communities.
They are looking for people who are passionate about making a real difference for people living with mental health issues and bring a different perspective to reflect the communities they are working with, including those from black, Asian and ethnic minority backgrounds, the traveller community and those with experience of homelessness or exclusion. They particularly encourage applications from men, the LGBTQ+ community and the BAME community for this recruitment round as they are currently underrepresented in these areas.
You can see and fill in the application form here. The deadline for applications is midnight on the 18th April 2022 and they will be in touch within 3 weeks of the closing date. The payment rate is £16.66 per hour, plus expenses.
