Every Body Moves In Sheffield

Every Body Moves In Sheffield

Every Body Moves is a fresh campaign to connect disabled people with more opportunities to get active than ever before. At the launch of Every Body Moves more than 150 disabled people took part in a ‘come and try’ session for different sports and activities from archery and dance, to wheelchair basketball and table tennis, at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield.

They were joined by Paralympic gold medalists Hannah Cockcroft, Jonnie Peacock and new Paralympics GB chief executive Dave Clarke, who said: “Disabled people tell us that representation is a crucial part of breaking down barriers to participation in physical activity and this is why it is so important we celebrate the benefit of movement for Every Body.”

The everybodymoves.org.uk platform features more than 7,000 inclusive sessions and a range of virtual workouts, hints and tips, and has been co-produced with disabled people.

You can search for activities in the website here.=

There’s also an Inclusive Home Workout Zone.

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.
