Doncaster Sheffield Airport Accessibility Forum Open Day

Flying can be fun – but often the first step for disabled people hoping to get on a plane is making sure that the airport they are leaving from is as accessible as possible.
Doncaster Sheffield Airport is keen to encourage passengers with a range of needs requiring assistance whilst travelling. As part of their commitment to making the journey through the airport as easy as possible, they are hosting an Accessibility Forum open day on Monday 26th March for groups and individuals who are interested in finding out more about the airport. This forum aims to give people the opportunity to meet the airport teams, travellers and other disability groups to discuss travelling through the airport, what assistance is available and what the Forum can do to improve and help make journeys smoother.

Places are limited but anyone wishing to take part should contact Verity Alty by emailing valty@flydsa.co.uk with your email address, name, organization and any topics or areas you would like to hear more about. For further information on the airport’s accessibility you can look at Doncaster Sheffield Airport’s website.

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

Very good presentation, brave of the speakers to tell their stories and had a very high impact - feedback from Mate/Hate Crime presentation and video session at Safeguarding Working Together Conference
