A postgraduate research project is aiming to study how disabled people experience moving around Sheffield, with a specific focus on experiences of using pavements.
Laura Harrtman is looking for participants over the age of 18, from the Sheffield area who have a mobility impairment.
Taking part in Laura’s research will involve writing a travel diary for a two-week period . These can be completed by writing in a notebook or in a document on your computer for example, hopefully by 24th July or at latest by the end of the month.
Diary entries might include taking a trip to the shops, your commute or moving around your neighbourhood. The main interest of this project is the physical features of the city. For example, the size or slope of the pavement, how well lit the area is or obstacles along your route. It is not expected that you write a lot and, on some days, there might be nothing to write. That is okay!
If you would be interested in completing a travel diary for Laura please email leharryman1@sheffield.ac.uk .
If a travel diary is not possible but there is a regular journey you make or have made in the past you could comment on, please still get in touch with Laura.
