Disabled People are let down by the Disabled Facilities Grant Process Says Ombudsman

Disabled People are being left for too long in unsuitable homes because of problems with the Disabled Facilities Grants process, the Local Government Ombudsman (LGO) says. In a report issued this week, the LGO highlights some of the complaints it receives when the grants process goes wrong, and the significant impact this can have on people’s daily lives. It shows that many disabled people are being let down and the LGO wants local authorities to learn from their findings.” . View article.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)
