Disability Cost of Living Payment

Disability Cost of Living Payment

The government has announced that from 20th September, 6 million people who are paid certain disability benefits will receive an automatic one-off cost of living £150 payment. The payment will help disabled people with the rising Cost of Living acknowledging the higher disability-related costs they often face, such as care and mobility needs.

This is in addition to the £650 Cost of Living Payment for disabled people who also receive means tested benefits.

You can check if you’re eligible for the Disability Cost of Living Payment here.

GOV.UK also has a new page about the various schemes to help with household costs here.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.
