Direct Payment Support Service

Direct Payment Support Service

A new service has been set up to support adults and children in Sheffield who
receive a direct payment and “want to get the most out of their care money and achieve their goals”.

It is run by Penderels Trust and funded by Sheffield City Council. The Direct Payment Support Service includes:

  • Support with setting up your direct payment
  • Support when recruiting a personal assistant
  • Guidance on all aspects of being a good employer including legal obligations
    and responsibilities
  • Support with choosing and using a care agency
  • Help with keeping accurate records

Organisations can complete a referral form or Penderels will take an email from someone and then help people to fill in the referral form to self refer and make sure they have all the info required.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)
