If you want to have a hand in changing and ‘curing’ the social care system you may be interested in having your say at a online one-day conference later this month.
Social Care Future is a movement of people committed to bring about positive change to social care, and includes groups such as The Alzheimer’s Society. They have ambition to #CureTheCareSystem. Building on this shared vision, they are inviting people who have experience of social care to attend their online gathering this month and help steer action for change.
The conference Towards an Equal Life Series: Leading the Lives we Want to Live
takes place on Thursday 24th February 2022 from 10am-4pm. It is delivered by In Control on behalf of Social Care Future and is supported by Think Local Act Personal( TLAP ).
There will be two sessions during which you can explore how people accessing social care, including those affected by dementia, can take control of their own care, learn from information and best practice found in upcoming publications, and be part of the conversation – whose social care is it anyway?
The morning session from 10am-12pm is ‘a big conversation about directing our own lives’ and the afternoon session, from 1-4pm, is ‘a workshop on self-directed support.’ People wishing to attend are welcome to take part in either or both sessions but are asked to indicate beforehand which ones they are attending.
Free tickets are available to people who have experience of social care and people unable to attend otherwise. Click on this link to register your attendance
Social Care Future is a growing movement of people with a shared commitment to bring about major positive change in what is currently called “social care.” It’s for people who want to take part in imagining, communicating and creating together a future where what we currently call social care makes a major contribution to everyone’s wellbeing and which, as a result, will enjoy high levels of public – and therefore political – support.
