Connecting Sheffield

Consultation on new transport projects in the city is starting soon. Sheffield City Council is launching a new project called ‘Connecting Sheffield’, which will focus on encouraging active travel and support the shift towards sustainable transport in and around the city.

The project aims to improve travel links through schemes in the following areas :
- The city centre.
- Neepsend & Kelham to the city centre.
- Nether Edge to the city centre.
- Magna to Tinsley.
- The city centre to Attercliffe and Darnall.
- On Abbeydale Road and Ecclesall Road.

An overview of the proposals is on the Connecting Sheffield website.

Disability Sheffield will be feeding back on the City Centre scheme and depending on timescales will respond to as many of the others as possible! If you’re interested in a particular scheme, please get in touch so we can prioritise which schemes are the most important. Contact James Martin on 07523 833 974 or email consultations@disabilitysheffield.org.uk

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.
