Are you in your late teens and would love to be involved in making movies? Well the BFI Film Academy are recruiting twenty young people aged 16-19 to take part in their academy in Sheffield at the Showroom Cinema,
The course runs from Wednesday 2nd November until Saturday 4th February. The fee for the course is £25.00 and bursaries to cover course fees and travel costs may be available to attendees. The course will run every Saturday with a break over the Christmas period. Speakers include producer Cat Marshall (Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, Warp Films), Writer Paul Fraser (Dead Man’s Shoes, A Room For Romeo Brass) and actress & writer Sally Cancello (Fargate).
Young people from all backgrounds and areas of the UK are encouraged to apply – the deadline for applications is Monday October 24th at 2pm.
The course aims to give participants a real insight into the world of film making, equipping them with skills and experience that are essential to becoming part of the film industry. All participants will be working towards a recognised qualification from NCFE and will be immersed in all aspects of hands-on film making, meeting fellow film enthusiasts and industry professionals from across the UK.
