Autism Plus Launch New Website

Autism Plus Launch New Website

The national Autism charity, Autism Plus, have launched their new website.

The charity has been supporting adults and young people with autism, learning disabilities, mental health conditions and complex needs since 1986.

The new website includes the integration of an innovative accessibility toolbar called Recite Me.

Recite Me is award-winning software that allows visitors to customise the website so it works best for them, which is especially important for website users who have a range of neurodiverse conditions and disabilities. It includes support functions for people with dyslexia, text enlargement, an interactive dictionary, colour themes, a translation tool with more than 100 languages and 35 text to speech voices. You can access the toolbar by clicking the accessibility button located at the top of any page on the Autism Plus website.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.
