Campaigning organisation Disabled People Against Cuts (DPAC) is looking for examples of people being blocked from social media site Facebook because of their disability, following a row over pictures of a wheelchair-using model being banned and a telephone conversation in which an employee suggested that pictures of disabled people are ‘disturbing’
These led to a protest outside their British headquarters in London. This was supported by Models Of Diversity, an organisation set up to promote equality and diversity in the fashion, beauty and media industries.
Following this, Facebook agreed to a meeting with DPAC representatives which is due to take place soon and they would like to hear from anyone who feels they may have been affected. You can email DPAC on this subject or if you want to know about their other campaigns by contacting them through mail@dpac.uk.
