All our Brains Exhibition

An exhibition looking at the effects of dementia not only on patients but the people around them returns to Sheffield this month.

All Our Brains, which was originally put together as part of Sheffield Hallam University’s Festival Of Creativity last year, contains a variety of work, mostly done by local people.

Curator Lee Pearce said: “The exhibition is a new way at looking at dementia and the challenges around it. There is no right or wrong way to respond to it, no right or wrong questions. Everyone has their own different ways to manage how they respond to this disease. And because of that the exhibition is different to what you might expect – it’s tender, fragile, touching, emotional, comforting, surprising and everything in-between. It’s not just asking you to look at a piece of art – it’s asking you to engage.”

The Exhibition is at The Art House, 8 Backfields, Sheffield S1 4HJ, from February 16 to March 2. Admission is free. View website.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)
