Accessible Bus Stop Realtime Information Trial

Accessible Bus Stop Realtime Information Trial

A new method for accessing real time bus information is currently being trialled in the City Centre. It is designed to make bus departure information available to all with audio announcements made on request using a push button. You now have the opportunity to give feedback on the audio, and the visual elements of the information system.

On Wednesday the 15th of June at 10:30 there will be an opportunity to give feedback directly to staff from Sheffield City Council and Travel South Yorkshire to gather feedback on accessibility. We will hold this event alongside Sheffield Transport 4 All. Meeting point will be outside the former Debenhams corner entrance at Moorhead. If you would like to join us contact us at consultations@disabilitysheffield.org.uk so we know to expect you.

Alternatively, if you cannot make it, then you might want to drop by the Moor in Sheffield where systems are available to try at your leisure and send feedback on to us at consultations@disabilitysheffield.org.uk where we will combine them and pass on to partners. The trial systems are located at Furnival Gate stops and some stops on Charter Row.

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.

Very good presentation, brave of the speakers to tell their stories and had a very high impact - feedback from Mate/Hate Crime presentation and video session at Safeguarding Working Together Conference
