    Autism Plus has an amazing opportunity in August to design a garden at Weston Park Museum in Sheffield. You will work with garden designers to design a garden space to the Museum’s brief.

  • Uniting our Voices & Defending our Rights

    Disability Sheffield helped organise the annual “Reclaiming Our Futures Alliance” national conference in Sheffield for the second year running. We feel it’s important for local disabled people and disabled people’s organisations (DPOs) to feel part of the collective voice of disabled people and we value the idea behind ROFA where disabled people can unite and defend our rights together. The conference was entitled ‘Uniting our Voices & Defending our Rights’ and explored how we can defend and progress disabled people’s vision of rights, inclusion and equality.

    We are delighted to publish Caroline Waugh’s funny and moving account of her life and cycling which was originally written for the Get Yourself Active website. Caroline’s blog takes us through her many life threatening experiences and some life affirming ones too. Caroline and the team run Cycling 4 All sessions at Hillsborough Park in Sheffield from April through to October.

  • The Big Fat Housing Chat

    Disability Sheffield and Sheffield Voices have teamed up with Change in Leeds who are campaigning with Shelter about housing issues that affect people with learning disabilities. We would like to add your story about housing to the campaign. This event is for anyone with a learning disability and for anyone who supports people or provides accommodation to people with a learning disability. Held on the 1st September it will run from 10.00 am through to 3.30 pm and is being held at The Circle, Sheffield.
