Free Garden Design Course for 16-24 year olds

Are you 16-24 years old and interested in garden design?

Autism Plus has an amazing opportunity in August to design a garden at Weston Park Museum in Sheffield. You will work with garden designers to design a garden space to the Museum’s brief. The course is free and open to disadvantaged 16-24 year olds e.g young people who are disabled, unemployed for longer than 6 months, have family problems, mental health issues etc.

You will work with garden designers to design a garden space to the Museums brief.

During the six session course, over two weeks, you will learn which plants will work best in the space, research other gardens to help you decide what will work well and then have your designs realised with the help of an industry specialist.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience in horticulture, design, team work, growing and working alongside specialists!

Very good presentation, brave of the speakers to tell their stories and had a very high impact - feedback from Mate/Hate Crime presentation and video session at Safeguarding Working Together Conference

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.
