    Sheffield Flourish is inviting entries for their annual five-day art exhibition in October as part of World Mental Health Day. The theme is ‘urban nature’, and everyone is welcome to submit 2D artwork in any medium – especially people with a lived experience of mental health and those who work in support services, for a display in the Moor Market. The closing date is 31 August.

    Chilypep Children’s Wellbeing Practitioners

    Some staff at Chilypep , a youth empowerment charity based in Sheffield ,are training to be CWPs and are now open to referrals for children and young people in Sheffield and Barnsley who may be experiencing low level anxiety or low mood.Chilypep have produced an information Letter for Children and Young People explaining the offer of 6-10 sessions of low intensity CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy).

    The line-up has been announced for this year’s South Yorkshire Autism Fayre from 12th-14th September 2021, which like last year will be held virtually due to the recent pandemic and health and safety precautions.     The Independent Living Group, a UK wide membership organisation set up to support Individual Employers and their staff, has reported a lot of enquiries from individual employers and Direct Payment professionals about the continued use of PPE since the relaxation of restrictions in England on 19th July. In response to this ILG Support have put together a new advice note for individual employers explaining that in some cases, individual employers won’t be quite so ready to relax the rules.

    Social Club Offers Health and Care

    A new social cafe and lunch club has been set up by SACMHA Health and Social Care, a Sheffield-based organisation which aims to provide culturally sensitive help, particularly to those who feel marginalised or who struggle to access mainstream services. It will take place at the SADACCA building on The Wicker, every Thursday from August 5th.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)
