Disability groups in West Yorkshire have called for people to continue wearing masks to help protect those who are particularly vulnerable to Coronavirus. Calderdale Covid-19 Disability Advisory Group are asking the Mayor of West Yorkshire and Calderdale Council to provide all public services in as safe a way as possible, improve ventilation and mask wearing ( except for exemptions )on all public transport and encourage the continuation of optional working from home.

They want to build a digital archive that captures, preserves and amplifies local women’s experiences and are looking for your submissions until September 1st 2021.

It’s been announced that 16 & 17 year olds are now eligible for their first Covid-19 vaccination and don’t need parental consent to get a vaccine. The group can’t book via the national booking service but will be contacted by the NHS or can attend a walk in centre.

We know that a lot of people who have been shielding are very anxious about opening up so we worked with Greg Fell, Director of Public Health at Sheffield City Council, to come up with some guidance both for shielders and also for the rest of society.
