Speakup are raising awareness about the new Covid 19 Grab and Go sheet this week. If you have a learning disability or autism and need to go into hospital because of Coronavirus the Grab and Go sheet gives the information doctors and nurses need. Book a Grab and Go session on Zoom taking place every day this week from 11am to 12 noon.

NHS Sheffield Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) has produced a draft strategy for Sheffield which looks creatively at how people living with severe mental illness, learning disabilities, and autistic spectrum
condition can be supported to have the best possible physical health and live longer and healthier lives. As part of finalising the strategy the CCG has launched a survey asking for your views, which closes on 7 August 2020.

The Merlin is proud to present the opening of ‘Fading into Nothingness ‘ on January 17th, 18th and 19th written by Theo Griffiths, a former student of Freeman College. ‘Fading into Nothingness’ is a short play about a Sheffield family torn apart by grief and how they cope with their teenage son, Zack (played by Theo) who is autistic and already struggling in mainstream school.

With effect from Monday 2nd December, personal wheelchair budgets are being introduced as part of a range of measures to improve current wheelchair service provision, to ensure people have better experiences of care and to give people greater choice over the wheelchair provided. People who need Section 117 after care support now have the right to a personal health budget, providing them with greater choice and control when managing their own health and care.
