A group of disabled people are regularly getting together to have some pub-style fun in a virtual way. The Staying Inn has been set up to keep people in self-isolation connected during Covid-19.On Sunday May 3 the pub will have a special guest in the form of Australian author and disability rights campaigner Carly Findlay .

Sheffield-based inclusive beauty and fashion influencer Tess Daly is one of the latest participants in a series of filmed interviews by a leading disabled businessman and blogger.
Tess and Martyn Sibley were filmed speaking for an hour during which they talked about subjects including their experiences as people with Spinal Muscular Atrophy, making businesses more open and dealing with trolls.

Sheffield IAPT’s (Improving Access to Psychological Therapies) online course , looking at different emotional responses to the coronavirus outbreak, offers simple skills and techniques to help you cope with the outbreak. Each of the 4 sessions is around half an hour long with time after to ask questions and focuses on a different theme each week. The next course is scheduled to start on Thursday 7th May between 6-7pm.

A doctoral student looking into the ‘gig economy’ and how it affects disabled people in the jobs market is looking for interviewees to help with her project. Ioana Cerasella Chis, who is in the first year of a PhD at Birmingham’s politics department wants to speak to disabled, neurodiverse and/or chronically ill people who are on zero-hours, fixed-term or seasonal contracts.All participants will be paid in line with the Real Living Wage for their help.
