Participants Needed for Documentary on Disability Hate Crime

Producer / Director Richard Butchins is making a documentary for BBC2 on disability hate crime. He is looking for strong case studies of people who would be willing to talk on camera about their personal experiences around Hate Crime.

Richard is known for his work on previous films such as The Great Benefits Row and NHS Out of Hours Undercover.

The director said “I am disabled myself and have personal experience of the issue and so for me, it is important the disabled control the narrative in this film. I also know that the current situation has changed the landscape for the disabled in many ways and this will be incorporated into the film”.

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)
