Sheffield Mencap and Gateway has released details of new Carers Outreach Sessions and workshops designed to support unpaid carers for adults with a mild to moderate learning disability and/or autism.These include emergency planning, Health Passports and Sharing Caring Drop-in sessions.

Sheffield Carers Centre is holding a free workshop on Thursday February 7th, from 10.30am to 2.30pm to make carers more aware of their legal rights and enable them to plan campaigns. The workshop will cover what people are entitled to under the Care Act 2014, how to plan a campaign and influence local decision makers and how to use traditional and social medias to bring about the change you want to see.

Disability Sheffield, with funding from Skills for Care is co-producing a ‘How to Guide’ for supervision and appraisals in health and social care in Sheffield. Over the next few weeks, starting on Friday 23 November, we are holding a number of workshops to find out peoples’ views and experiences about person centred approaches and how they can be put into workplace supervision and appraisals. The workshops are mainly for front line workers and managers in health and social care in Sheffield. One of the workshops on Monday 3 December from 10.30am to 12.30pm at The Circle is specifically for people who employ personal assistants and others who have an interest in this area.
