    The history of disabled people is as long as the history of the human race; but is rarely discussed in schools. The Disability History Network have launched an online survey to find out what kind of stories you believe should be taught to secondary school aged children learning about disability history.

  • Looking Back At The Teaching Of Disability History

    The University of Sheffield’s history department is hoping to build an educational resource about disability finding out what people learnt about the British Empire and disability history in general, during their education.     Newly discovered photographs charting the 120-year history of the charity, Disabled Living, are on show in a permanent exhibition in Manchester.The photographs offer a unique chance to see the history of a disability charity in the UK.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)
