  • DWP Easy Read Report about ESA and PIP Assessments

    The Department for Work and Pensions has published an Easy Read version of the government’s reply to the House of Commons Committee of MPs who have been looking into how Personal Independence Payment (PIP) and Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) are assessed. Documents written in an Easy Read format are written in a way that makes them more accessible to people with learning disabilities.

Healthwatch Sheffield is looking for volunteers to become members of their new strategic advisory group, particularly people who identify or have worked with communities whose voices are not always heard. This includes disabled people, especially if you have experience of health and/or social care as a service user or carer.

  • 'Our Country's Good' - Disability Friendly Theatre comes to Sheffield

    This innovative touring production in Sheffield from 12th May – 19th May, has been produced with Ramps on the Moon, an organisation working towards the inclusion and integration of Deaf and disabled individuals in the UK theatre. It features creative use of audio description, signing and captions.

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.
