    Are you employed as a PA for an adult over the age of 18 and feel you could benefit from further training? Do you employ your own PA(s) and want to further their skills and knowledge or improve your understanding of your role and responsibilities as an individual employer? If so, Disability Sheffield are running a number of FREE courses in partnership with Skills for Care and Sheffield City Council starting this November until March 2022.

    Your Digital NHS Covid Pass

    The government has updated its guidance on how to get an NHS COVID Pass and demonstrate your coronavirus (COVID-19) status when travelling abroad and at events and venues in England.You can apply for a medical exemption if you cannot get vaccinated or tested for medical reasons. You’ll then be able to get an NHS COVID Pass for domestic events and venues when your medical exemption is confirmed.

    The Sheffield Race Equality Commission was established in Summer 2020 by Sheffield City Council to assess the nature, extent, causes and impact of racism and race inequality in Sheffield and to make recommendations for tackling them. Its interim report concludes that the state of racial equality in the city remains a significant problem for Sheffield.

    Race, Disability and Self Directed Support in Sheffield

    This online workshop on Wednesday 8th December 2021 from 11am to 1pm will explore experiences of social care and self directed support for disabled people from black, asian and minority ethnic communities in Sheffield. It will include highlights from Think Local Act Personal’s recent report about the value of community groups in achieving personalised care.Anyone with an interest in these issues is welcome to take part.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)
