It’s been a while ! but our spectacular fundraising event is back at Crookes Social Club. A night of live music, dancing and fun with our staff, volunteers ,friends and anyone else who wants to attend will be the perfect way to celebrate the great year we’ve had at Disability Sheffield. We’ll also be saying goodbye to our wonderful CEO Emily and her partner Luke so do please come along to our Winter Party on Sunday 15th January 2022 (6 – 9pm).

Congratulations to Sheffield Voices which has received 1 of 42 grants issued by the Tramlines Trust. Thanks to their funding for charities, grassroots community organisations and projects in the Sheffield area the award will support the development of Sheffield Voices’new LGBTQ+ café for autistic adults.

Chance to Choose, our exciting project commissioned by Sheffield City Council and delivered by Sheffield Voices to coproduce the new ‘Working Age Adults Framework’ for people with learning disabilities and autism, have four events coming up in December.Two are for parent/family/friend and other carers, two are for people who use supported living, respite care, and/or day opportunities in Sheffield.

The 3rd of December – the International Day of People with Disabilities – is a day designed to mark the rights, equality, equity and wellbeing of Disabled people in all areas of life. We stand in accord with Disability Rights UK’s powerful statement, describing how we are now facing “the most punitive living conditions in generations” and why this is the time to look, to see, to listen, and to recognise and honour disabled people as fully included members of society.
