Your Second Favourite Disability Blog

As part of our continuing effort to introduce you to your second favourite disability blog (after ours of course,) we’re taking a look at The Purple Space blog which styles itself as “the world’s only networking and professional development hub for disabled employees, network and resource group leaders and allies from all sectors and trades.”

It features positive stories about the career experiences of people with a disability or long-term health condition, with disabled contributors sharing tips for overcoming challenges in pursuing chosen careers such as My pride in becoming a disability confident role model.

It also features stories about how disabled employees, staff networks, and employers are working together to build personal and business disability confidence from the inside out such as How to be a workplace ally to a colleague who has Down’s syndrome.

You can find the blog at Purple Space or @mypurplespace on Twitter.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.
