Young Leaders Programme

Young Leaders Programme

Disability Sport Yorkshire are offering an exciting opportunity aimed at disabled individuals aged 16–25 across Yorkshire. They are recruiting for their Young Leaders Programme, designed to inspire and support the next generation of leaders, providing them with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to become future charity leaders or trustees.

Over the course of the year, participants will take part in sessions covering topics such as:
• Understanding Charity Governance – How charities are structured and the role of trustees
• Fundraising & Income Generation – Securing funding and diversifying income
• Leadership & Influence – Building confidence and developing leadership styles
• Public Speaking & Advocacy – Communicating effectively and advocating for change
• Project Management in Charities – Planning, delivering, and evaluating impact
• Inclusivity & Representation – Creating truly inclusive organisations
• Networking & Career Development – Navigating the charity sector and identifying opportunities

Travel expenses to in-person sessions will be reimbursed (fuel at £0.45/mile and economy train travel). Most other sessions will be delivered online for accessibility.

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)
