Would Brexit Have 'Dire Consequences for Disabled People'?

The UK will decide whether to leave the European Union (EU) in a referendum on 23 June, but almost nothing has been said publicly about the potential impact of this vote on disabled people. Deborah King, co-founder of Disability Politics UK criticised both the campaigns to leave and remain in the EU for failing to spell out “what the impact of Brexit would be on disabled people.” Miro Griffiths, a former government adviser believes that Britain’s exit from the EU “would have dire consequences for disabled people,” and would jeopardise disabled people’s ability to “continually challenge our state and the power it exerts.” View Article.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)
