What Information do Self Funders Need? - Let SIgN Know

The University of York is part way through a research study called the Self-funders and Information Needs (SIgN) project . The study aims to find out how people living in England, who pay for their own social care ( at home and in residential care ), get the information they need, and how organisations that have contact with self-funders can best support this process. Interviews with adult social care staff , self funders and carers are underway and the study is keen to speak to more people in January and February. The plan is to produce a leaflet and a five-minute film to help people with finding information, and a guide to help staff in providing information. For more information view website If you are able to take part in an interview or could send study invitation packs to self-funders, please contact Emily Heavey at York University on 01904 321950 or by email for more information.

Very good presentation, brave of the speakers to tell their stories and had a very high impact - feedback from Mate/Hate Crime presentation and video session at Safeguarding Working Together Conference

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.
