Walking for Purpose has launched its 8th block of walks which started on 3rd April and will run until 5th June 2019 delivering the project in Firvale and Stocksbridge for the first time.
Walking for Purpose offers jobseekers the opportunity to gain valuable skills and training that employers want, whilst being active with a gentle walk.
Participants meet at a local venue where the Walking for Purpose friendly, approachable staff will walk with you to different training providers or workplaces where you will be able to:
•Get tips from local employers/training providers to make you more employable
•Develop and enhance your skills and experiences – great for your CV
•Receive a free one day travel pass for buses, trams and trains to help you attend
•Get access to free training courses
•Attend a celebration event at the end of your journey to celebrate your achievements
Anyone gaining employment as a result of Walking for Purpose will get a free one month travel pass!
Walks are scheduled for the following days/dates and please get in touch for future dates and start venues:
Day: Wednesday at 10:00am – 12 Noon
Dates: 3 April 2019 – 5 June 2019 (10week course)
Venue: Firvale Community Hub, 127 Page Hall Road, S4 8GU
Day: Fridays at 12:30pm – 2.30 pm
Dates: 26 April 2019 – 28 June 2019
Venue: Christ Church Community Hall, Manchester Road, Stocksbridge, S36 1DY
