‘Fit for the Future’ is the title of the government’s new 10 year health plan for England. It reflects the experiences and expectations gathered from people with lived experience, the wider public, partners and health and care staff.
The Plan highlights three ‘shifts’ in the new approach to delivering healthcare moving from:-
- hospital to community – treating people locally
- analogue to digital – better use of technology including artificial intelligence (AI)
- treatment to prevention – helping people make healthier choices to stay healthy for longer
The government has said it will:-
- personalise care
- give more power to patients
- ensure that the best of the NHS is available to all to reduce health inequalities
You can read the plan on GOV.UK , also in Easy Read and video.
Disability Rights UK has given a cautious welcome to the Health Plan.
