After extensive work at pace on local taxi policy consultations at Disability Sheffield there is now a national taxi guidance consultation. If you would like to make any observations or take part in discussion on this please get in touch with us at consultations@disabilitysheffield.org.uk
We know a lot of the issues many disabled people have to book or get the assistance they need whether for taxis or private hire services are not unique to this city. Contributing to this consultation on national guidance should help to ensure improvements can be made for us and more widely. You can get involved by looking at a draft response, or by attending two Zoom meetings planned for the 13th and 16th of June. Email the above address to find out more details.
The consultation papers can be found here. We are anticipating reusing much of the information from the local consultations. However, there are some additional aspects and changes which will benefit form further input from Disabled People in Sheffield to strengthen our local response.
