Self-employed? Disabled? Disability Rights UK Want to Interview You

Disability Rights UK are looking for someone who has chosen self-employment as a means of more successfully accommodating their disability than employment. They are interested in capturing the difficulties you encountered in employment and how these have been managed better in self-employment. Is this you? Are you willing to be interviewed and filmed about your experiences? If so please email: Philip.Connolly@disabilityrightsuk.org

We could ask our members and care providers if someone they care for with a learning disability who is self employed would be interested in getting involved in this – would you like me to distribute to our contacts? Note, we deal specifically with the learning disability sector.

That’s a great idea Esther could you pass me your contact details? Also – did you see on our website the recent call for responses to the APPG on the employment gap? My email address is andrew.crooks@disabilitysheffield.org.uk Thanks for getting back and sorry for very late response.

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

Very good presentation, brave of the speakers to tell their stories and had a very high impact - feedback from Mate/Hate Crime presentation and video session at Safeguarding Working Together Conference
