ROFA Conference 2016

Disability Sheffield is delighted to announce, yet again, our co-hosting of the Reclaiming our Futures Alliance (ROFA) 2016 national conference. Taking place at Sheffield Town Hall from 10:30 am until 16:00 pm on Thursday 14 July.

This year’s ROFA conference is entitled ‘Unifying our Voices/Defending our Rights’ and serves as a key happening in strengthening voices and making change happen. It is an event where you can meet disabled people & DPOs from all over England & share experiences whilst making connections with other activists and campaigners.

As well as building networks it’s an occasion to build and strengthen our campaigning skills and share information about campaigning that really works. There will be a number of workshops in which to take part including: Direct action – with Disabled People Against the Cuts (DPAC); Fighting cuts to social care, Care Act complaint to Department of Health & CQC with Equal Lives; Mental Health Resistance, users & survivors sharing experiences; and Independent Living, lessons from the Save the ILF & other campaigns.

We will be electing a national committee to take ROFA forward so Join up today to ensure that you are eligible to vote.

Coming to Sheffield for the second year in succession tickets cost £25 if you are representing a DPO with more than £10,000 turnover. It is free for individual disabled people and non-funded DPOs. You can sign up for this event by using the simple registration form on the ROFA website. If you have any general enquiries regarding access or dietary requirements, then please contact andrew.day@rofa.org.uk

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.
