Review of Independent Advocacy Services 2018-19.

Sheffield Advocacy Hub is proud to present their Annual Review of their Independent Advocacy Services for 2018-19 using a new format this year which they hope presents the key information about the service in a straight forward way which is easy to understand. As well as an outline of each type of advocacy support and service user figures, the review includes stories from people who have used the advocacy service in their own words and outlines some of their important campaigning work carried out through the year.

It includes full information about the Hub’s work– on page 3 for example, you can click on the small triangle to the left of the heading to expand the content.

Sheffield Advocacy Hub is a partnership between Citizens Advice Sheffield , Cloverleaf Advocacy and Disability Sheffield . All 3 of the Hub partners are holders of the Advocacy Quality and Performance Mark and follow the Advocacy Code of Practice .

“Our Advocacy services delivered around 36,000 hours of advocacy support to our clients in 2018-19, said Peter Brown, advocacy manager at Citizens Advice Sheffield “and we have helped our clients to solve some of the significant problems they face and to be involved in key decisions about their health and social care, as well as protecting their rights.”

Very good presentation, brave of the speakers to tell their stories and had a very high impact - feedback from Mate/Hate Crime presentation and video session at Safeguarding Working Together Conference

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)
